Uncle C says that you can use duct tape without any problems. There is also a metal aluminum tape (very sticky!) that he uses but one must use small pieces at a time vs one long piece as it's difficult to work with. He also has duct work that would fit right over it "if" you could lift the stove top up and fan which I gather is most difficult. He says the duct tape will do just fine and as a matter of fact they suggest a break in the metal at some point to keep cold air from being conducted in through the metal. So there you go ... problem solved ... use DUCT TAPE!

is there anything duct tape can't fix?
Isn't that what duct tape is for...fixing ducts????
You got it littlegrammie however in this case the concern was over the fact that this is directly associated with a high heat source ... the oven!
