Hello again!

I haven't been a very good...um...blog...poster lately. But yes, we're still here. We're still getting things ready for twins(!), and kind of peering at the calendar and waiting at the same time. Nobody is sleeping very much here, despite the warnings from everybody to catch up on sleep now. Since we're up all night, we've been reading a little bit more. I'm reading Crawling, a book my mom gave me written by an artist who grew up on a goat farm in Connecticut, abut his first year with his newborn daughter (in Berkeley, CA). It's pretty funny, and has a chapter titled "the snot-suction thing". Megan is reading a book called "Going Wild" about bird watching. So far, she laments that there aren't that many adventures in it. Maybe it'll get better. When I don't want to have to concentrate on reading or thinking, I sit at the kitchen island and do Sudoku. (I like to have a project I can start and finish in a matter of 10 minutes).
You're probably wondering what the heck that picture is at the top of the page. The two kids with the bowl cuts. Our good friend Rose, who just transplanted herself to San Diego, knows how much Megan and I like to collect found photos off the ground, and other people's shopping lists off of the bottom of grocery carts. She called us and claimed she found a photo on the ground in California she wanted us to have, because she thought it looked like our two future boys. When she visited this past weekend, she gave the photo to us. Well...I can only hope our boys are capable of growing such marvelous bowl cuts. I can also only hope they have so few allergies that they're able to spend their days sitting in front of a bush eating leaves and cackling like that. One thing I would like for our children to avoid, however, is being stalked by a mysterious levitating hose. (Why the heck is that thing on the sidewalk casting a shadow??) Anyway, I thought the picture was kind of funny, and Megan put it on the fridge. All it says on the back is "Oct '82". It's always fun to pick up found objects, they even have a magazine for it now... (dang! someone stole my idea again...)
36 weeks now. Both babies are still doing well. "Baby A" likes to bounce around at 4:30 a.m. sharp, every morning. "Baby B" goes from head-down to breech and back to head-down again in the matter of a week. (Even after the doctor tells us he probably won't do any more spinning around). I guess he just wants to keep us guessing. Megan goes in for non-stress tests every week, and when one baby wakes up and starts kicking, the other one does two. It seems like whatever one does, he get the other one to join in. I guess that's a good sign, that the twins are reacting to each other.
That's about it for now. Time to throw some more wood on the fire. It seems like winter has finally decided to show up...

What cute kids. It almost looks like you and Damon.

You always did like to pick up found objects. When we would go for our walks at night you wanted to lug home EVERYTHING that you found on the side of the road: stones, candy wrappers, toothpaste tube boxes, bottles, envelopes. You wanted it all. I just always figured that it was a sign of a creative person and that you would incorporate all that junk into your creative moments.
